Who Are Bayside? The Queens Band Behind the Music
Bayside have been part of the punk and emo world for more than twenty-five years. If you are new to the band, or just want the story straight, here is where it all started.
Where are Bayside from?
Bayside formed in Queens, New York City, in 2000, started by singer and guitarist Anthony Raneri. They are still a New York band at heart: their 25th anniversary tour in 2025 ended with a hometown show in Huntington, New York.
Where does the name come from?
On the way to a showcase on Long Island, the band needed a name to write on the demo CD they planned to hand over. They drove past the Bayside train station, wrote "Bayside" on the CD, and the name stuck.
What kind of music do they play?
Their songs mix punk rock, pop-punk and emo, with heartfelt, often dark lyrics and big sing-along choruses.
